Our thoughts create our lives. In this podcast, I talk about the unique lens through which we view the world, shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and values. Self-perception is a process influenced by memory and interpretation, where our thoughts and habits play a vital role in creating our self-image.
We must encourage ourselves to choose the positive and empowering thoughts, practicing self-compassion, gratitude and create the most authentic version of self we can. Limiting beliefs hinder our potential, and by building empowering habits we can positively impact our thoughts and actions. We have the power to consciously shape our self-image. Mental health cops a pretty bad wrap, the stigma attached to it makes it incredibly difficult to address. So many people who struggle with their mental health are flooded with so much guilt and shame which holds them back from talking about or even seeking any kind of help or relief. But the mistake so many make is thinking that you’re mentally unwell, rather than being in a state of mental unwellness. Underneath all of the persistent negative, devaluing, sad, worrying thoughts, lays your mental wellness. It’s always there.
When we consistently think the same thoughts, that makes us consistently feel a certain way and if that isn’t conducive to happy living, then we will struggle with mental health. That does not mean that you have to monitor your thoughts. It’s about getting back to listening to your inner wisdom. Thoughts come and go, you get to choose which ones you breathe life into, and how much life you breathe into those thoughts. When you have the same ones over and over, you might not have any room left for new ones. This is when you get quiet and start making room for something new, something different to come through.

I put this visit to the Self Improvement Room off for a few weeks, because to be honest, I didn’t realise that I was still so vulnerable when talking about it. But since recording it I have had time to reflect and don’t feel embarrassed or guilty. This was my journey, this is my story and it has made me who I am.
Being vulnerable isn’t weak, struggling in life isn’t weak, it’s just simply struggling. My message to you is that even if you are struggling, even if things are incredibly difficult for you and you see no other way, I promise you if I can turn my life around ANYONE can.
In this episode I share with you my story, I touch a little on my traumatic childhood, a little more on my divorce, having children and not being there for them and my overall struggle with undiagnosed ADHD, PTSD, anxiety and depression. It was difficult to relive some of these memories but when I spent some time reflecting after recording this episode, I realised that it’s my thoughts around the memories causing my feelings of guilt. I no longer live in this world and I no longer have to carry thoughts and feelings about it that don’t serve me well.

I’ve spent well over $100,000 on education, and have had 8 years of experience in personal development, plus 30 years of experience living a crazy, hectic, difficult life.
In this episode, I’ll discuss three fundamental things that you can change quickly to give yourself a solid foundation for transforming your life.
Firstly, we'll talk about the importance of action-taking. It's easy to get caught up in analysis paralysis, spending hours thinking and procrastinating without making any progress. However, once you practice taking action, you'll see the most significant difference early on in your transformation.
Always remember, "Done is better than perfect." Don't wait until you think your decision, work, or plan is perfect. Just go ahead and do it, fixing it along the way.
Secondly, we'll explore the practice of gratitude together. When you radiate bad energy, you're a vibrational match for everything negative around you. Practicing gratitude lifts your vibrations and makes you a match for better things, improving your life. Keep a journal and write down what you're grateful for each day. This habit will leave you waking up feeling great.
Lastly, we'll discuss knowing where you're headed and committing to it. You can have the best GPS in the world, but if you don't know the destination, then it won't take you there. If you follow these practices and start making changes, you’ll see results almost instantly.

This week in the Self Improvement Room, I share with you my personal experience of using genetic traits as an excuse for my past behaviour… I was an emotionally immature b*#ch. I believed that my personality traits were determined by my DNA makeup. However, I have since learned that while genetics play a role in shaping our personality, it becomes smaller over time as we are constantly being shaped by our environment, experiences, and choices.This is why self-awareness and intentional effort in crafting the best version of oneself is crucial to your overall success and happiness in life.
I want you to realise that they have control over who you become. We are not solely defined by our DNA, but rather, we have the power to create our own experiences and design the person we want to be. A little effort each day can lead to significant personal growth.

Are You An Unknowing Victim?
Habits are sneaky little suckers! In this episode, I talk about a generational thought process that is negatively impacting our future and our ability to create the life we want. I’ve been watching and I’ve noticed a pattern in conversations with people of all ages, leading me to believe that a silent pandemic of pessimism and negativity exists.
To ensure we don’t fall victim to this dark world, we must shift our perspective towards one of abundance and optimism rather than scarcity and pessimism, as our mindset profoundly affects our well-being and overall quality of life. Pay attention to your language and conversations, and reach for a slightly more improved mindset each day. By being more self-aware and focusing on a better mindset, we can make a positive change in the world.
