An Epiphany That Will Make You Look at Mental Health Completely Different

Mental health cops a pretty bad wrap, the stigma attached to it makes it incredibly difficult to address. So many people who struggle with their mental health are flooded with so much guilt and shame which holds them back from talking about or even seeking any kind of help or relief. But the mistake so many make is thinking that you’re mentally unwell, rather than being in a state of mental unwellness. Underneath all of the persistent negative, devaluing, sad, worrying thoughts, lays your mental wellness. It’s always there.

When we consistently think the same thoughts, that makes us consistently feel a certain way and if that isn’t conducive to happy living, then we will struggle with mental health. That does not mean that you have to monitor your thoughts. It’s about getting back to listening to your inner wisdom. Thoughts come and go, you get to choose which ones you breathe life into, and how much life you breathe into those thoughts. When you have the same ones over and over, you might not have any room left for new ones. This is when you get quiet and start making room for something new, something different to come through.
